a new major release of SAP GUI for Java is now available for download.

Besides using Java 7, SAP GUI for Java 7.30 supports various new OS versions and Linux distributions, comes with new themes, employs the Java Security Model and includes various new features.

Corbu Theme: The new design is a fresh, modern and unique visual identity and is intentionally neutral to blend with variety of content.
High Contrast Theme for visually impaired users is available now.
Installation has been redesigned. It provides a better user experience and performance improvements.
Security: Improved security by employing the Java Security Model also in stand alone mode.
Sounds: User interface elements provide audio feedback. This can be switched off in the preferences dialog.
Web Start Support: SAP GUI for Java now can also be deployed by using Web Start.
Keyboard navigation: In Tabstrips, it is possible to navigate between the tabs by typing their title.
Grid Control
- Multilevel-Undo now is supported in Grid.
- Performance of mass data change in Grid control has been improved for operations like delete, copy and duplicate.

Installation of GUI in Windows

Double click SapGuiSetup.exe and install as normal software.
Give the instance entries by click on new entry button and specify application host name, Instance number and SID of the server.
If there are more number of entries was present, and then copies the file Saplogon.ini on already existing desktop.

GUI initialization: GUI is initialized by the following INI files

saplogon.ini
sapmsg.ini
saproute.ini
sapdoccd.ini

saplogon.ini – This file consists of the system details like name of the server, SID and instance umber. When we click on new tab in SAP GUI to enter description of the new server after saving it will be entered into this file. Without this file we cannot logon into the system and there will be no entries to logon from SAPGUI.

sapmsg.ini – This file is used to identify least loaded server in the logon group, if logon load balance is configured. This file consists of message server details.

saproute.ini -This file is used to communicate with SAP systems over the sap router.

sapdoccd.ini – This file is initialized when the library is accessed. It contains the path of library.
